Praise & Prayer

Praise and prayer

Praise the Lord . . .

  • For a successful Model United Nations at ECA, MUNECA-21, with the participation of 31 high school students. Students interacted with current Colombian and global leaders, showcasing their abilities in research, analysis, critical thinking skills, persuasion, and communication. The goal is for students to step up with innovative solutions to reflect God’s love and justice in our broken world, becoming the leaders God is calling them to be.
  • For the successful 24-hour parent prayer meeting that the Parent Council Coordinating Committee (PCC) organized for last week. A big thank you to all the families who joined the prayer link online, as well as those who reported praying offline. ECA’s virtual prayer room, where you can read the community’s prayer requests, is always available on our website.
  • For all the parent representatives who participated in the 3rd and last Parent Council Meeting of the school year. Attendance was quite high – 36 families out of 44 connected – and participation was great.

Prayer

  • For the vaccination process to continue moving forward, and that the spread of COVID will soon be checked.
  • For the continued uncertainty and tension revolving around the National Strike. Pray for wisdom and integrity for our leaders as they seek to find solutions to the concerns, and pray that we will experience peace again soon. Pray that those with valid concerns will express themselves appropriately and that Colombia will be able to recover quickly from this challenging situation and move forward to best meet the needs of the nation.
  • For families who want to end the year with no ECA debt. Pray for clarity for priorities and decisions, for wisdom in dealing with financial challenges, and for provision during economically stretching times.
  • For the following ECA community members who are fighting COVID or its side effects:
    • Fredy Salazar, HS Math
    • Emily Camplejohn, ELL
    • Marissa Senn, 1-B
    • Isabella Villalba’s (3rd grade) grandmother
    • Mancera Rojas family (8th grade student)
  • For Isabella Gutierrez’s (7th grade) family, whose grandfather recently passed away.
  • For our 21 seniors during their last week as ECA students. Pray as they participate in the Senior Chapel, Senior Retreat, Graduation, and the Senior Awards Banquet. We pray that God would guide and bless each one as they move into their next chapter, studying or working.
  • For the needed ECA staff for the 2021-22 school year. An asterisk means an application is in process.
