Praise & Prayer

Praise and prayer

Praise

  • That about 30 2nd-4th grade students successfully joined the ECA hybrid model last Tuesday, bringing the total number of elementary students on campus two days a week to around 80. We thank God for the hard work of the entire ECA team to make this a smooth transition!
  • For answer to prayer that Glorifé Dávila‘s (Accounting Assistant) family in Venezuela has recovered from COVID. They are all out of danger.

Prayer

  • For God to bring the needed staff for the 2021-22 school year. At this time, we have over 20 spots to fill, covering current staff who are sure they will not be returning and those who are still praying about returning or not.
  • For Charlotte Bard (Elementary Principal) as she continues to make adjustments to best manage her diabetes and keep blood levels stable. Pray for wisdom for the medical team and nutritionists supporting her, self-discipline in keeping rigorous schedules, and for discernment in responding appropriately to changes in sugar levels.
  • For Theunice Oliver (5th-6th grade teacher) who is having difficulties leaving Ecuador due to emigration paperwork. Pray for wisdom in interpreting regulations and filtering varied expert opinions, financial resources for all the extra expenses this has caused, and speed in being able to arrive in Colombia. Theunice has given up her apartment and is staying temporarily in a guest house in Quito, so when she arrives, we want to warmly welcome her!
  • For strength and miraculous healing for Carolina Zamora (Colombian Program Assistant), as she continues struggling with her health and chemotherapy.
  • For Óscar Gélves’ (Administrative Director) father as he restarts chemotherapy after his cancer recurred. Pray for wisdom for the doctors and strength for Óscar’s father.
  • For comfort and peace for the Parada Sarmiento family, as Valentina (9th) and Camila (5th) lost their grandmother a few weeks ago.
  • For strength and peace for the Tello Mora family as Alcira Valbuena, Samuel (1st) and Gabriela’s (Pre-K) grandmother, had a stroke (ACV in Spanish) on November 1 and is still hospitalized. Pray for a quick recovery and no long-term aftereffects.
  • For Katy Barreto, mother of three Rojas Barreto graduates (Daniela, David, and Maria Camila), who wore a cardiac holter monitor last week due to heart issues. Pray that the monitor readings come back normal.
  • For Laura Medina, mother of Juan Eduardo (4th) and Isabella Cañas (Pre-K), who is fighting cancer.
  • For our government leaders as they make decisions to best manage the continued impact of COVID on our country.
