Praise & Prayer

Praise and prayer

Praise the Lord . . .

  • For Secret Church, last Friday night, which was a challenging and thought-provoking time considering how to better use our resources to get the gospel to unreached people of the world.
  • That Beth Afanador, Sara Jane Guzmán, and Yolanda Cardozo were able to participate recently in three different accreditation visits for sister ACSI schools: Nuevo Gimnasio Cristiano in Cota, Colegio Cristiano J Vender Murphy in Barranquilla and Colegio Cristiano Logos in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve other Christian schools in the search for excellence in Christian education, and at the same time, for the learning experience this brings to our team and the great ideas we are able to bring to ECA.

Prayer

  • For Zoad Bendeck, mother of Sofía (12th) and Samuel (6th) Beltrán, who is still undergoing treatment for her degenerative autoimmune disease. In the last couple of weeks she has started to see some improvement in her health.
  • For Juliana Castellanos (9th), who had knee surgery in March. They removed the stitches last week and injected platelets for better healing. She is still undergoing therapy and sees marked mobility improvement.
  • For Esteban Restrepo, father of Tatiana (Class of 2020) and Esteban (11th), who recently had a horse accident and surgery. He has been improving considerably but the process is long. Continue praying for a full recovery.
  • For Angela Vargas (Registrar) and her mother, as they fight COVID. Her mom is in the hospital, but improving. Angela’s intense cough is lessening. We are thankful for the steps in their recovery, but keep praying for full health for both.
  • Pray for Germán Burgos, profe Rocío’s husband, who tested positive for COVID last week. He is hospitalized, but seems to have the infection under control with satisfactory improvement daily. Pray for wisdom for the doctors and strength for the family.
  • For the ECA families who have been financially affected during this COVID season. Some families have experienced relief, while nearly a dozen still need our prayers. Pray for wisdom, provision, and jobs for those who have lost them, and that the Lord would keep these families together, growing stronger in Him.
  • For our staff team for 2021-22. We still need:
    • 8 elementary teachers
    • 2 MS teachers (5th and math)
    • 3 HS teachers (math and science)
    • Learning Center/special education, art, music, PE
    • MS and HS principals
  • Pray specifically for:
    • The 2 missionary teachers who have been offered a teaching position at ECA and are still praying about accepting our invitation
    • The 3 missionary teachers who are beginning the application process
    • Several possible teachers who are here in Colombia and who are praying about the possibility of joining our team
    • Several positions where there are no current applicants in process
