Praise & Prayer

Praise and prayer

Praise

  • That the Lord enabled us to finish 1st quarter well. Though technology can be frustrating, we are thankful that we were able to use this tool to move forward with our academic and spiritual goals, following ECA’s vision.
  • For the Oct 3-13 days to take a break from distance learning…parents, students and teachers/administrators all needed a rest from so much screen time. We enjoyed the time to exercise, play games, do puzzles, cook, develop hobbies, and other non-screen activities!
  • For the Lord taking Profe Carolina Rico’s mother home to heaven. Praise the Lord for all the support that Profe Carito, her husband Profe Henry Piñeros and their daughters have received from several ECA families as they have gone through this loss.
  • That premature baby Benjamin Escobar de la Torre is now home with his family, after gaining weight to over 2,000 gms!

Prayer

  • For Charlotte Bard, our elem principal, who was in the hospital for a diabetic imbalance last week. Pray for her body to stabilize and gain strength again.
  • For wisdom for our teachers who are attempting to return to Colombia as they deal with the logistics of COVID testing, changing flights, and uncertainties as borders begin to reopen.
  • For our teacher needs for 2021-22. This is usually the season we begin our strong recruiting push for the upcoming school year, and with the current situation, speaking in colleges and participating in live recruiting fairs are not options. So we are praying God will give wisdom as we seek new ways to connect with possible teachers for ECA. Pray that God will be drawing the team members He wants to serve here at ECA! We will probably need at least 10 new staff members.
  • For Juan Martin Ortiz Galvis (PK-B), whose chlorine and potassium levels were high. Tests came back showing his brain is normal and he can continue with classes. Issues with his tonsils were revealed, affecting breathing and sleep, and more tests and procedures will be done; but his parents are increasingly relieved at each step, giving praise to the Lord Jesus.
  • For Sarah Leonard’s mother, as she has begun her physical and occupational therapies. We trust the Lord that her progress will continue as remarkable as it has been so far.
  • Thank you for your prayers for the Moreno Granada family (Mariana, 11th) whose grandparents tested positive for COVID; Hemel Moreno was in ICU and María Helena was hospitalized. Hemel has gone to be with the Lord, and María Helena is back home. Pray for the family for grace and strength, especially for María Helena as she recovers from COVID and faces this new chapter of life without her husband of 62 years by her side.

ECA Prayer Center

The entire ECA community is invited to submit prayer requests via our website ECA Prayer Center. We are called to pray for one another:

Therefore confess your sins to each other and
pray for each other so that you may be healed.
The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

James 5:16.
