Praise & Prayer

Praise and prayer

Praise

  • For God bringing us a physics/math teacher this past week! We are looking forward to Dane Forlines joining us from Memphis, TN when international borders open up. He and his wife Michelle and their three elementary-age children are processing travel paperwork, figuring out housing, transitioning out of a job in the USA, and preparing to teach HS math/science. Do hold this family up in prayer during this intense and quick turnabout. We are thankful for this answer to prayer!
  • For our great ECA community and the commitment that mainly all parents and staff have shown towards the school. Special thanks to the 220 families who participated in the Parent Assembly last Friday…81% of those registered.
  • For the new families who are joining ECA this school year. Last week we had a great virtual New Family Orientation with 54 screens joining us, and we are excited to work with these new families and have the blessing of partnering with them in their children’s educational and spiritual growth.
  • For our staff members who were married over the summer as they begin their lives together. We pray that God would give them much joy as they create new traditions and habits, communicate well, and set up their new homes together.
    1. Olivia (Calandro) and Mark Rogers
    2. Hannah (Anderson) and Diego Díaz
    3. Allison (Conrad) and David Chaparro
    4. New MS teachers Mady (Sensenig) and Cameron Doan
    5. Former ECA teachers Ilana (Hager) and John Dougherty

Prayer

  • For wisdom, vision, discipline, creativity, and joy as families/students/teachers begin classes for the 2020-21 school year. Pray this will be a time of curiosity and learning, skill- and habit-building, as well as a time to grow spiritually. Pray for everyone to take full advantage of this unique opportunity in this unexpected chapter of history.
  • For our foreign missionary teachers as we figure out a new system for visas and travel to return or come for the first time to Colombia. Pray for wisdom to wisely navigate new visa processes and unknowns in travel issues with the constantly changing panorama.
  • For the ECA community dealing with COVID, especially for peace and comfort for those with family members and friends fighting the infection. Pray too for those who have been negatively impacted financially by the quarantine situation.
  • For Carolina Zamora, from our office team, as she fights against cancer and struggles with chemotherapy sessions and aftereffects. Though this has been a difficult chapter, she affirms that the Lord has been good, and she and her family have strengthened their personal relationships with Him. They are trusting Him and His good and perfect will. Keep praying for them, asking the Lord to continue blessing Carolina and her family, asking God to heal her.
  • For Pastor Juan Marcos Prpich, father of three ECA alumni and a missionary/ pastor, as he is still on a ventilator and fighting a fever and COVID infection. Doctors say he is improving daily. Pray for peace for his family during this waiting time.
