Praise & Prayer – Apr 9

Praise and prayer

Praise

  • For the six very successful mission trips, full of beautiful surprises, learning, and growth, carried out by over 80% of our HS students and led by 23 staff members, 1 alumni, and 2 staff spouses. They reported, “Although we went intending to bless and give our best, we received their best!” Daily reports for each team can be found on our website here, along with videos that each team created.
  • During HS mission trips, MS students hosted kids from the ministries El Puente and Hogar de Paz. They led worship and a chapel service, along with a time of games, competitions, and educational play with around 40 kids each day. It was a great 2 days of blessing some local ministries and kids from around Bogotá. The HS students who did not go on mission trips filled in for the MS teachers who went on the trips, supporting the MS students.
  • For Rachel Osborn’s mom’s improvement. Miss Osborn’s time with her family was a great blessing and she has returned to ECA safely. Continue to pray for the Osborn family.
  • That Beth Afanador was able to meet for the first time with a missions committee from a church in Ontario that is now supporting ECA on a monthly basis. She also spoke twice at an ACSI school to 4th and 5th graders, planting seeds for future missions.
  • For Olivia Calandro’s visit to ECA, along with her parents Chris and Tammy. Olivia is from Texas and plans to be our 1st grade teacher next year.Olivia Calandro
  • Tatiana PeñuelaFor Tatiana Peñuela, a 1st grade mom who has joined the ECA staff as a part-time counselor/psychologist. We thank the Lord for sending her to ECA at the right moment.
  • The whole building structure is now finished! We poured the concrete base of the roof and now we are preparing the metal scaffolding that will support the roof. Also, we are building the foundation that will support the facade and we are planning to start building it once the bricks arrive at school, which could happen in 3 weeks. We signed a contract with a new company to design the structure for our multi-purpose sports court, conforming to anti-seismic regulations, and our Board of Directors chose an architect to design the interior and exterior. Please continue to pray for funds since the construction pace is moving faster than expected, and stopping the construction would incur extra costs.

Prayer

  • For Jhon Barrios and his 4- and 12-year-old daughters after their beloved wife and mother Danelbis Cadena went Home to be with the Lord this last Friday, April 6.
  • For Beth Afanador, who will be on the accreditation team for the International School of Tegucigalpa in Honduras April 9-12 where she will be studying that school’s self-study and then participating in observations, interviews, and more document studies with a team of five others. Pray that the ACSI team visit and report will help this sister school continue to grow towards excellence
  • For seniors as they are making career decisions and trusting God for the financial resources they need. May God guide their paths to continue their training to fulfill what HE has planned for them.
  • Teacher Needs 2018-19 – We still need a PK teacher, a HS math and science teacher, an art teacher, plus a Director of Development. Pray with us for these key spots.
