Praise & Prayer – Apr 23

Praise and prayer

Praise

  • The Lion King was a smashing success! A big thank you to the ECA community for being such a great audience, and to the actors, crew, directors, and logistics team for all the hard work they put into this activity. For the first time in ECA history, all performances were sold out early. We were also blessed to have 45 students from one of our ministry partners, Colegio Nueva Andalucía, in attendance at the Saturday matinee performance.
  • We received an application for a possible art teacher. Also, the teacher who visited the first week of April has agreed to join our team as our 1st grade teacher. She has been teaching 1st grade for the past 3 years in Nashville.
  • For the nice time during the 3rd PTF Class Representative Breakfast held on April 12. We thank the 27 parents who came and participated, getting ready for the end of the year, and Opening Day activities for 2018-19.
  • In the last 2 weeks, there was not much visible progress on the construction project, but soon work will begin on the building’s facade and the installation of the roof. But don’t worry, you will see bricks going up very soon. In the meantime, construction continues on the foundation that will support the facade and the internal walls of the first floor.
Regarding the multi-purpose sports court, the structural and architectural designs are being meshed.

Prayer

  • We still are waiting for a teacher to send in the PK application she said is on the way. We still need HS math and science, and a Director of Development.
  • For grace, sensitivity, courage, and wisdom for our HS students participating in the T4:8 1-Day Thing focusing on street evangelism, especially with Venezuelan immigrants, on Sat, April 28.
  • Beth Afanador will be visiting the Pacific Northwest the first week of May to try to raise funds. If you have any contacts in Portland, OR, Seattle, WA or Vancouver, Canada that you think might be interested in hearing about El Camino’s ministry and possibly donating toward our construction, let us know and we will share more information with you.
  • Continue to pray for funds since the construction pace is still moving faster than expected and stopping the construction would incur extra costs.
